For the past 3 years, Elin Bengtsson has technically almost exclusively worked with watercolour on polypropylene. It is a way of painting that is unconventional for the watercolour. The paint settles on the shiny surface of the paper when it dries, but continues with water. It is an "searching" method in which water and paint poured on brushed around and wiped off again and again. The technology allows the expression to be both fragile and brutal at the same time, reflecting the motives well.
