Already early in my art I have worked with a painting in the expanded field. I paint on cotton paper and on three-dimensional objects. My artistic expression is formed with colors contrasting to each other in a high-pitched color scale. I start from systems, patterns and different geometric shapes and enrich my works with references from my surroundings.
I'm interested in the borderland where beauty is described and I definitely want my works to claim the beautiful, exclusive but also grotesque and absurd. In the abstract story, I'm looking for a strong baroque dynamics almost on the verge of hysterical which summarizes my image and experience of contemporary society, where I see speed and constant decoding as key concepts. I want to reveal what's hidden underneath the surface.
The latest series of paintings are built with a childish composition based on a clear center inspired by plant kingdom structures and its fascinating sexuality. They are built with many layers and filled with information. They contain a drama that appears only when you get closer.
In recent years I have performed several major public designs. The latest assignments are the sculpture Forever Young, which was completed in September this year on behalf of Luleå municipality and the installation of Sunset to a pre-school Järfälla municipality. At the moment I work with a sketch to Uppsala municipality as well as a public artwork to the city of Göteborg.
