Enrique Battista's ( b 1949 BA, Argentina) art is consistent, it inhabits a depth and restraint that elevates painting far above the everyday; where each line and color field contains a playful but at the same time concentrated investigation into structures and systems. The traces of sweeping brushstrokes, horizontal and vertical lines often become living expressions that seem consciously controlled and given but at the same time so uncertain, so undetermined - which results in a tension-filled encounter of layers of time and space.
