Here’s Looking at You presents works by five artists, offering five different perspectives on the dynamic of being observed versus being the observer.
Almost all the works are paintings, with the dramatic exception of a sculpture carved with a chainsaw from a single tree by the Swedish artist Linda Pedersen. As always, at the Loyal gallery, with its international outlook and particular connection to the North American art scene, four of the artists are based abroad. Mario Ayala is from Los Angeles, where Francine Spiegel is also based. geetha thurairajah, originally from Waterloo, California currently resides in Toronto. Cheyenne Julien lives in the Bronx, NY.
