The 37th Hasselblad Award Winner is Rineke Dijkstra, a photographer from Netherlands, whose works illuminate both individual and collective experiences.
Her works are focused on transition experienced through people’s lives, like teenage years, motherhood, migration and military services. She mainly focuses on girls and women, though boys and men are also presenting.
The Hasselblad Award exhibition includes Rineke Dijkstra’s early, iconic beach portraits of children and teenagers, and the ongoing series portraying the Bosnian-Dutch woman Almerisa, which the artist began in 1994.
