The drawings are the ode to the period of solitude which McNally experienced in the countryside near Copenhagen for 6 weeks, while staying in a large house on the edge of the wood. The drawings created during this time, are considered by McNally himself as quick notes, and even were forgotten for years.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art plays a significant role in McNelly’s drawings. Every day for 6 weeks of solitude, he walked to the museum and depicted familiar Pre-Colombian objects from Wessel Bagge collection and Giacometti room in an absolute new way.
