Domeij Gallery is proud to present "Bara bra" which is an exhibition with Germund Lindunger and Helena Norell, Germund works with painted wall objects and Helena with abstract painting. We have chosen to call the exhibition "Just good" because we have chosen to exhibit these artists together just because we think they are so good!
Helena Norell is an abstract target that creates compositions of color fields and circles. The surfaces are flat but the color creates different structures. She examines spaces, contrast, the straight and the crooked, silence, light and darkness, intensity and color itself. The titles of the paintings do not describe what you see but try to surprise and bring in a poetic tone.
Germund Lindunger is a sculptor who works with painted wall reliefs in wood and jesmonite. A series of four wall-hung sculptures has titles such as Regnet, Skogen, Linn and Rembrant where he has borrowed the color scale from other people's pictures.
As an elongated palette, the colors are transferred to a striped roof as it would look from an airplane. "West Coast Suite" is a series of objects created by joined turn-of-the-century lists have a lot of energy, here the colors compete with each other. Germund has from memory tried to recreate a landscape in northern Bohuslän where he has his summer house. In a little rough strokes and with full volume on the colors he has played with the concept of landscape, sun, sea and mountains.
