From the project: The Bird Project (2006 – 2017)
Wheat pasted photographs of birds in scale 1:1.

The American ornithologist J.J Audubon worked 12 years (1827 – 1838) with a very ambitious book projects: Birds of America. Audubon wanted all the illustrations to be in scale 1:1 which made it one of the largest books ever made with each page measuring 100 x 70 cm.

As an homage to Audubon I have been putting up 4982 photographs of different birds in scale 1:1. I have been all around the world – in Reykjavik, Casablanca, New York, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Rio De Janeiro, Stockholm, Madrid, Buenos Aires and London.

Just as Audubon I´ve worked with the project for 12 years and finally made a book with the same size as Birds of America.
