Magali Cunico

Graduated at Malmö Art Academy in 2008. Lives in Stockholm. Works mainly with paintings based on various photographic images. They are often shown in installations combined with several artistic means of expression. Recurring themes in her art practice are the complex relationship between man and nature and the human’s quest for control and order. The dialogue that arises between the works and the viewer is of great importance. By bringing together different images, sometimes texts and / or three-dimensional elements, new stories are created. From the slow process of painting and the shifts of perspective, the outside world and an inner state of mind are brought together as well as the tangible and the unconscious. The showroom plays an important role in my process. The possibilities and limitations of a specific space add new layers of time, space and memory to each work.
