Alexandra Hedberg

Alexandra Hedberg

Alexandra Hedberg mostly makes work on paper that at first glance might look like paintings, but are created by using screen printing techniques in an unorthodox and experimental way. Now and then Alexandra also makes screen prints that looks like drawings, in very small editions. With a dark sense of humour Alexandra tackles in her art what it is to be human. For many years she worked solely with a form of portraiture focusing on posing and pretending. Recently the climate threat has made her expand the inquiry into the Apocalypse with three interlacing main themes; dissolving darkness in nature, sex as escapism, and pretended happy ignorance.
