Johnny Olsson

With an interdisciplinary flare, Johnny excavates the basis for daily life and its contexts within physical and virtual spaces. Occupied with the conflicting impressions that form identity he examines the slippages and interlacings of urban culture, spirituality, self-image and user-generated content. His work imagines the interplay of emotional states like hope and nostalgia through sculpture, installation, photography, word and digital techniques. b. 1996 in Stockholm, Sweden – Johnny has studied textile at the school of Steneby, philosophy at uni of Gothenburg and art history at Stockholm uni.
