Exposing the artist’s first, and otherworldly self.
Not a self portrait, but rather an interpretation of joy, flow and currency
During my almost-daily trip down to the junkyard, I found a box of ceramic tiles, which I think are very nice to paint on! Sure, the surface i difficult to paint on with acrylics, but I’m picking up some tricks, and with a layer of lacquer at the end it’s all honky dory! So with my tiles, I’m allowing myself to explore a much more abstract side. I allow my self to try things out in a much more playful way, where I think nothing can really fail. And I’m finding out some new ideas, methods and techniques that I employ on canvas. So the tiles are in general more experimental, a lot fast, more abstract, and more out there.
Number 01, with Hrik in the title - yes, it is some kind of a self portrait after all I guess hehe.. Clearly I’ve not gone for photorealism here, but this is me, the way I felt at the time I painted it! That is, happy, feeling I have no boundaries, just feeling very very free for enjoying doing something fairly different.
Tile_01_hrik is not framed, and that is how it's sold and shipped.
If you are interested in acquiring this piece of art, I’m happy to supply additional pics (including of the early stages progress), and answer any questions.
