He is always there. Everything I always was, am, and will be.
Standing on wobbly legs, about to take a first step.

Circle of Giraffceros is probably my most abstract painting so far. I don’t strive to be abstract, but sometimes, that’s just how it turns out.

For this one, I had to do 2 very different rounds of blind background painting! First all in reds, oranges and yellows. Then all black and white on top. And that’s when I saw the giraffe with the rhino horn. Giraffceros. This is also when I started to notice all the human shapes and silhouettes from my blind painting!

Then - as usual - I struggled with how to proceed, and the painting had to marinade for a few days. I then decided to fill the human shapes with text of what they represent. And then I saw that the different people that materialised symbolise different stages of life, and different roles in life! I then paired that with the cave art look of Giraffceros, and thought of the song “The circle of life” from the Lion King - so hence the title, and meaning. Then of course I did the final neon acrylic touches, with a tonne of hidden details. For this piece I’m not even going to give any hints - it’s 100% up to you to find!
