Thomas Hansson

Thomas Hansson is interested in images and the visual elements that they consist of. Despite this, depiction is absent in many of his works. At least at first sight. The artist himself sees his works as depicting–the figurative elements have been removed, but the framework remains. Creating an image is an intuitive process where the making becomes a way of thinking–space is built from different rhythms, intensities and movements; the tracks that the artist leaves behind. In the spring of 2016, Thomas Hansson received his Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå. He has exhibited in Stockholm, Umeå and Malmö, but also outside of Sweden. In 2016 he was awarded the Ann-Margret Lindell Printmaking Scholarship, which was his introduction to the world of printmaking.
