The exhibition, TRE SEKLER (THREE CENTURIES), is showing fabulous items from the 1600s-1700s and 1800s. In the exhibition, furniture and crafts will be combined with exquisite painting and sculpture of some of the most important names in Swedish art history. Åmells wants to recreate a fan of the salons and chambers for which the objects were created while allowing them to appear in their own right. By doing so, we hope to inspire the visitor to try to imagine them in all possible environments, perhaps even in their own modernly furnished accommodation, because masterpiece artifacts are timeless. Their story of history is bound by time and space, but today they are free to live their own lives, regardless of fashion and trends. In the exhibition you will find furniture and crafts of, among others, Georg Haupt and David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl, as well as an exclusive pair of Medici-type Porphyry vases.
The exhibition includes a very lavish themed catalog with seductively beautiful pictures and contentious texts by, among others, furniture expert Stina Odlinder Haubo.
